Booking & policies

Last updated: 2026-10-29

These terms apply to every Pinchie experience: Learn, Play and Feast. By paying your deposit, you agree to them. All deadlines are in calendar days before your event. Notice of changes or cancellations must be received in writing by 11:59 pm Toronto time.

Booking your date

  1. Send us a quote request with your date, guest count, location and the experience you’re interested in.
  2. We reply within 1–2 business days with a quote. Quotes are valid for 7 days.
  3. Your date is held once the deposit is paid. Until then, it may be booked by someone else.

Deposit and payment

  • A 50% deposit is due when you book, to hold your date. It goes toward your final invoice. See “Cancellations and refunds” for when it can be refunded.
  • The balance is due 7 days before your event, based on your final guest count.
  • Booking within 7 days? We’ll do our best to fit you in. Full payment is due when you book, and your guest count and price are final.
  • If the balance isn’t received by the due date, we may treat the booking as cancelled under the terms below.
  • We accept e-transfer, credit card or cash. Corporate clients can request an invoice, with the same payment dates.
  • Prices are locked once your deposit is paid. HST (13%) is added to all prices.

Guest count and minimums

  • Confirm your final guest count 10 days before your event. We bill for that number or the experience minimum, whichever is higher.
  • If fewer guests come on the day, we can’t refund their spots, but nothing goes to waste: we’ll pack their portions for your group to take home.
  • Extra guests are welcome where we can make room, at the same per-guest rate, invoiced after the event.
  • If your deposit is more than your final total, the difference becomes a credit toward add-ons or a future booking within 6 months.
  • Children count as guests.

Cancellations and refunds

  • 14 days or more before the event: deposit refunded, minus a $50 admin and processing fee.
  • 13 to 8 days before: the deposit is non-refundable.
  • 7 days or less before: the full amount is due and non-refundable, since ingredients have been purchased and staff scheduled.
  • For December and Lunar New Year dates, deposits are non-refundable from 30 days before the event.
  • If we need to cancel, you’ll get a full refund of everything you’ve paid. We aren’t responsible for other costs, such as venue fees.
  • If an event can’t go ahead for reasons beyond anyone’s control, such as severe weather, emergencies or government orders, we’ll reschedule at no cost or refund what you’ve paid, less any costs we’ve already incurred.

Rescheduling

You can move your booking once, at no cost, with 14 days’ notice or more, subject to availability. The new date must be within 6 months of the original, and once a booking is rescheduled, the deposit becomes non-refundable.

Travel and service area

Travel within downtown Toronto is included. For events elsewhere in Toronto and the GTA, a travel fee based on distance will be included in your quote. Any parking, loading or building fees for our team are added to your invoice.

Your space and timing

  • You’re responsible for confirming that your venue allows induction cooking and has the power, table space and water access listed for your experience.
  • If something is missing on the day, we’ll adapt where we can, but we can’t refund for changes caused by the venue. If the event can’t go ahead because the space doesn’t meet these requirements, it’s treated as a same-day cancellation.
  • We need access to the space about 45 minutes to an hour before your event, and about 30 minutes after. If it starts late or runs over because of the venue or schedule, extra time is billed at $40 per team member per hour.
  • Equipment damaged or lost during the event may be charged at replacement cost.

Allergies and food safety

  • Please tell us about any allergies or dietary needs when you book, and we’ll do our best to accommodate. Our food is prepared in a kitchen that also handles wheat, soy, sesame and other allergens, so we can’t guarantee an allergen-free environment.
  • All our team members hold Ontario food handler certification.
  • Freeze take-home dumplings within 2 hours, and cook them straight from frozen. No need to thaw. They’re best within a month. Once they leave the event, they’re your responsibility.
  • If alcohol is served, it’s provided and served by you or your venue.

Photos

We may take photos at events for our website and social media, never of guests who ask not to be photographed. Let us know if you’d prefer no photos at all.
